Where to Eat- Fibber’s on the Water
Deciding where to eat lunch is always a tricky thing for me. Sometimes I want something quick, other times something easy, but always something good. Rarely do I take into consideration the atmosphere, staff and location because it’s lunch and I just need something to tide me over until dinner. At least that how I thought of lunch before I found Fibber’s on the Water in Little River.
Fibber’s on the Water is a short drive from Cherry Grove Beach and happens to be a waterfront Irish pub with a menu full of fresh seafood, burgers, pasta and (of course) a full bar. Inside the seating is cozy with both high tables and low ones, a bar with TVs and great views of the waterway. Outside on the patio, you can enjoy the unencumbered waterway views.
Daily specials means you can eat something different and unexpected every day or stick to the menu and get great items like Shepard’s Pie, Fish & Chips and Jameson Barbecued Ribs. The friendly staff makes everyone feel like a regular and never rush you out the door.
My lunchtime trip to Fibber’s on the Water included a meal of sweet tea (it was lunch after all) and popcorn shrimp. The food came with a generous portion of shrimp, thick steak fries, coleslaw, ketchup and cocktail sauce. The shrimp was juicy and tender, the fries were perfectly seasoned and the coleslaw, a side I usually leave untouched, was out of this world. I don’t know if the cocktail sauce was house-made but it definitely did not taste like it came from a bottle. Did I mention the tea reminded me of the tea my Nana makes, not too sweet or too strong? Because it was. Pricewise, mine and my friend’s meal (they ordered the same thing as we both wanted the shrimp) came to $30 with tax and tip. Not bad for a lunch for two with great views of the water most usually don’t get to see.
Fibber’s on the Water is currently open daily for lunch and dinner, 11 am-10 pm. You can order food to go or dine in (my personal recommendation). Contact them today at 843-280-2271 or visit their website athttp://www.fibberslittleriver.com/.
